President - Community Representative: John Harris Stevenson
John Harris Stevenson currently works to steward tech innovation at the International Development Research Centre and develop grass-roots media. At IDRC he manages projects in Internet communications, online collaboration, and knowledge sharing. John has been innovating on the Internet since 1994, for many years as a strategist for IDRC's Web sites and as creative Web producer for many successful Webs, including for the film Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner. A graduate of the University of King's College Foundation Year Programme, he holds a Bachelors in theatre directing from Dalhousie University, an MA from Concordia University in Media Studies, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto's wonderful Knowledge Media Design Centre. John has been involved in community media for more than twenty years, working at CKDU-FM Halifax, CFRU-FM Guelph, and as president of Canada's community radio association and of course CHUO. John was instrumental in the establishment of the community radio fund of Canada.

Treasurer - University of Ottawa Representative: Denis Cossette
Denis Cossette is a graduate of the Université Laval (licence in accounting science, bachelor of business administration) and of the Université du Québec en Outaouais (certificate in administrative data processing). He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. Before his current appointment, Mr. Cossette served as director of Financial Services at the University of Ottawa, starting in 2005. And from 1990 to 2005, he worked for La Cité collégiale as director of financial resources and vice-president of administration and finance. Mr. Cossette specializes in budgetary and strategic planning, in financial analysis and in financial control.

Anglophone Volunteer Representative: Doug Ralph
Doug Ralph has been a volunteer at CHUO since the Summer of 2007 and has since dedicated most of his free time to co-hosting programs, helping around CHUO, and working on his two-hour late night program, ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?’. In September of 2009, he and his co-host went on a two-week tour of Eastern Canada as a touring radio show, visiting artists, Campus/Community radio stations and the communities surrounding them. The trip resulted in him receiving the 2010 Community Development Award from the NCRA. Doug also hosts a weekly indie music showcase (The Indie Attic) at The Cajun Attic, which helps indie artists connect with Community Radio, other media outlets, and artists. Doug Ralph has an Advertising degree from Algonquin College, and holds an hornourary degree from the ‘School of Rock’.

Special Members

CHUO Station Manager: Erin Flynn
Erin has been involved with community radio since 1996, after earning her Diploma in Radio Broadcasting from Algonquin College she took on the role of Production Coordinator at CHUO. Since those early days Erin has hosted workshops for the NCRA, speaker at the 2006 CUP conference, sat on the Board of Directors of the NCRA and the steering committee for Ladyfest Ottawa, a founding member of Ecology Ottawa, returned to school twice and briefly lived in England. All that and she just can't get enough of CHUO.
